Blackberry Outage - Again....
Disclaimer - I don't use a blackberry - I have a Windows Mobile 6 device that has NEVER gone down at the same time as 12 million other devices. In case your blackberry was dead (since RIM notified customers in e-mail) and you didn't read there was a Blackberry system outage today impacting 12 million users. Read full details here.
This isn't a new problem, last year they had an outage when they rolled out some non-essential code that brought the network down (read here)
Can someone enlighten me on why in the world you would have, or even more important need your ability to have e-mail at your phone be dependent on a single point of failure?
Maybe someone could drop RIM a note and encourage them to be a little more "loosely coupled"!
Am I the only one that thinks this doesn't make any sense?
