Multiple Login’s with Live Messenger

The other day I installed the beta of Live Messenger because I was trying to do video conferencing and it would lock up.  The new beta seemed to fix that and now the video seems to work fine.

It turns out there’s a cool new feature in the new beta that allows you to login multiple times.  In the past, the only way I was able to do this was to have separate accounts on each computer.  It drives people nuts because the never know which account they should send the message to and often I would see messages like “You There?”  or even more crazy they would do a conference and invite each of my ID’s hoping to find me somewhere.

Now you can just login on the additional computers and no longer will you be logged out from the prior one.  You should see the following message once this condition occurs.

If for some strange reason you don’t want this to happen if you click on the options link you can change the default.
